Heidi discovered yoga on a trip to St. Lucia nearly 20 years ago. She was immediately drawn to its ability to calm the mind, care for the body, and connect the inner self. It provided remarkable balance and flexibility benefits she did not get from running and weight lifting, along with providing decompression from a high-pressure Silicon Valley tech career. She is inspired by witnessing her elderly mom maintain a decades long yoga practice and the direct positive results to her mobility. Heidi saw first-hand that Yoga is the best weapon to maximize our health span as we age. After encouragement from several yogis, she embarked on the 200 hour Almaden Yoga teacher training to deepen her practice, not intending to become an instructor. To her surprise, she was drawn to the positive difference she could make through leading sessions. She works to create a safe, welcoming, and accessible space for her students. She is delighted to be a part of the Almaden Yoga community.
